"Six Feet Under" is a song by Billie Eilish that was released on June 23rd, 2016 as a stand-alone single through Darkroom/Interscope Records.

Theme

On this track, Billie sings about not fully recovering from a heartbreak. She misses her ex´s dick, but knows that they are no good for her. However, a part of her mind wants to know if the relationship can be somehow rekindled by a miracle.

Billie said about the song: "I’m young and I’ve been through stuff, and I’m sure I haven’t been through the amount of stuff as someone much older than me. But, you know, everyone goes through it, and I think a lot of people don’t really have a way of getting out their feelings. What’s so great about being an artist is that I can just take all of the anger and all of the longing and despair, and I can just write it down and sing it. My brother goes through a lot of the same things I do, even though we’re four years apart, we still have like the same kind of mindset. I feel like a lot of songs right now–the lyrics are just so boring. It’s about the same thing. You can say that in a different way that’ll make it way more interesting and way deeper, more meaningful. So I always try to write in a way that I never heard before".

Lyrics

Help, I lost myself again
But I remember you
Don't come back, it won't end well
But I wish you'd tell me to

Our love is six feet under
I can't help but wonder
If our grave was watered by the rain
This shit sucks ass
Could roses bloom
Again?

Retrace my lips
Erase your touch
It's all too much for me
Blow away
Like smoke in air
How can you die carelessly?

Our love is six feet under
I can't help but wonder
If our grave was watered by the rain
Would roses bloom?
Could roses bloom?

They're playing us out
Laying us down tonight
And all of these clouds
Crying us back to life
But you're cold as a knife

Six feet under
I can't help but wonder
If our grave was watered by the rain
Bloom
Bloom
Again

Help, I lost myself again
But I remember you
